The Women Development Department is dedicated to the advancement and empowerment of women across Nigeria through policy development, capacity building, and strategic interventions.

Our Mandate

The Women Development Department is responsible for:

  • Formulating and implementing policies and programs for the advancement of women
  • Promoting women's economic empowerment and financial inclusion
  • Enhancing women's participation in governance and decision-making processes
  • Addressing gender-based violence and harmful traditional practices
  • Promoting women's health and well-being
  • Facilitating women's access to education and skills acquisition

Women's Economic Empowerment

Providing access to micro-credit, vocational training, and business development services to enhance women's economic participation.

Gender-Based Violence Prevention

Implementing initiatives to prevent and respond to gender-based violence, including awareness campaigns and support services.

Women in Governance

Promoting women's leadership and participation in political and public life through capacity building and advocacy.

Education & Skills Development

Improving access to quality education and vocational training for women and girls across Nigeria.
