Distinguished Senator Aisha Jummai Alhassan was born in Jalingo on the 16th day of September, 1959. She attended Muhammadu Nya Primary School, Jalingo and L.E.A Primary School, Tudun Wada, Kaduna (1985 to 1972); Government Girls' Secondary School, formerly St. Faith College Kawo Kaduna (1973 to 1977); Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (1980 to 1985), and Nigeria Law School, Lagos (1985 to 1986). She also attended several professional courses, seminars and workshops.
Educational Qualifications: Distinguished Senator Aisha obtained the following: First School Leaving Certificate (1972), West African School Certificate (1977), Diploma in Law (1982); LLB. (1985) BL (1986) and several certificates of Attendance of Courses, Workshops and Seminars.
Distinguished Senator Aisha's Working Experience: Teaching during her National Youth Service NYSC (1986/87); Magistrate in Kaduna State Judiciary (1988 - 1991) Magistrate and Chief Magistrate in the Federal Capital Territory Judiciary (1991 - 1997), first female Deputy Chief Registrar (Litigation) FCT Judiciary (1997 - 2002), first female Secretary, FCT Judiciary Service Committee (2002 - 2003), and first female Chief Registrar, High Court of the FCT, from 2003 - 2009 when she voluntarily retired from Public Service.
Sen. Aisha Jummai Alhassan also served (on Secondment) in the Republic of Fiji as a Nigerian Technical Aid Corp Volunteer (1990 - 1992) and as first female Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Taraba State (also on secondment from FCT Judiciary) 1997 -1999.
Political Career: Distinguished Senator Aisha was Vice President/Acting President Students Union Government of A.B.U Main Campus Samaru Zaria (1978 - 1979), an inactive member the PDP as from 2005 to 2009, She became politically active from 2010 to 2011 when she contested for the North senatorial Seat and won to became the First female Senator in Taraba State. she represented Taraba North Senatorial District in the 7th National Assembly (2011 - 2013). Sentor Aisha Alhassan was the APC Gubernatorial Candidate in the 2015 General Elections. She is currently the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development and a Member of the APC Board of Trustees.
